“casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”
How wonderful and comforting it is to have a God who cares. He doesn’t look down on us and belittle our insecurities and fears. He doesn’t turn His back on us over our worries and anxieties. He doesn’t tell us “That’s dumb” or to “Suck it up” or “Get your stuff together and just get over it.”
No. Instead, we have a sympathetic High Priest who hears us. He tells us to bring all those concerns to Him. He listens. He hears. He cares. He looks at us and says “I understand. I love you. Give that weight to me. Trust me. I’ve got you.”
Hebrews 4:14-16 — [14] Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. [15] For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. [16] Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Romans 5:8 — [8] but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
1 Peter 5:6-7 — [6] Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, [7] casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
John 10:27-29 — [27] My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. [28] I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. [29] My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
